In the spirit of connecting writers with readers, Valley Bookseller and the Daily Grind have partnered to present Authors After Hours. We meet one Friday a month at 6:45 pm in the Daily Grind. Guest authors present their work, discuss the writing process and take questions. Reservations are required and cost is $5. Arrive by 6:45 and get a free beverage before the Grind closes at 7:00. Presentation starts after everyone is settled in and goes until 8:00 or so. Everyone will have a chance to shop in the bookstore after the event.

Author Bio: Rebecca holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Fiction Writing from Washington University in St. Louis. Her writing has won an Associated Writing Programs Award, a Loft Mentorship Award and 2013 and 2016 Minnesota State Arts Board Grants. Her stories have been published in numerous journals including The Kenyon Review and The Cincinnati Review. Her personal essay, “Safety,” is a Notable Essay in Best American Essays. Rebecca Kanner’s debut novel, Sinners and the Sea, is the story of Noah’s Ark told through the voice of his nameless and accursed wife.
Author Bio: Stephanie Landsem writes historical fiction because she loves adventure in far-off times and places. In real life, she's explored ancient ruins, medieval castles, and majestic cathedrals around the world. Stephanie is equally happy at home in Minnesota with her husband, four children, and three fat cats. When she's not writing, she's feeding the ravenous horde, avoiding housework, and dreaming about her next adventure - whether it be in person or on the page.
